Abacaba! – Using a Mathematical Pattern to Connect Art, Music, Poetry and Literature

Abstract
Any mathematical pattern can be used to create artwork. By exploring
connections between patterns and the phenomena in which they occur,
we can find not only surprising connections but also inspiration
for creative works. We explore a simple binary fractal pattern and
connect it to many areas of mathematics and the arts, including
pictures, music, literature and poetry. Links to music, lesson plans
and materials are provided for artists and teachers to explore this
rich pattern further.
