-
"Cohesion" (2002) - Bronze, 12" tall.
This shape is also a member of the "Scherk-Collins Toroid Family."
In this case, the crucial parameters are:
number of stories = 2;
height of stories = 4.0;
order of the saddles = 3;
overall twist = 360 degrees.
-
"6D Zonohedron" (2002) - Plastic Tiles, 6" diameter.
This is also a parallel projection of a 6-dimensional hypercube.
The tiles have been designed in SLIDE (UCB), prototyped on an FDM machine,
and then injection molded. They are held together by Polymorf (R) connectors.
-
"Volution_0_MS" (2002) - 3D-Print, 5" cube.
This is a minimal surface spanning the special rim shape
composed of twelve quarter circles lying on the 6 faces of a cube.
I am now experimenting with more complex, higher-genus variations
formed by adding tunnels to this basic shape.
