"Fractal Landscape"

Various fractal algorithms and recursive subroutines are used to create imitation clouds, trees and flowers.
"Nine plus one"
digital print, 12" x 12", 2005.
An iterated function system made up of Mobius transformations that map the unit disk to a chain of nine disks plus a disk in the center. The nine disks are pairwise tangent, tangent to the unit circle and tangent to the tenth disk in the center of the unit circle.
Anne Burns is Professor of Mathematics at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
Statement about my art:
"I enjoy writing my own computer programs in Visual Basic or Java. I am fascinated by the process of recursion and how it can be used to create pictures of astonishing complexity with very little code."
