"Six Lizards Pattern"
Digital Print, 8.5"x11", 2005

This pattern is based on the lizard pattern of Escher's Euclidean Notebook Drawing Number 56,
except that meeting points of right knees are 4-fold rotation centers, unlike Escher's pattern in
which they are 3-fold rotation points. This also allows for more interesting color symmetry than in
Escher's pattern: this pattern has color group
isomorphic to the full symmetric group S(3), whereas the color group of Escher's pattern is the cyclic group C(3). has color group C(3)
