"Art, music and designs have been emerging from computers for many years. Recently, evolutionary algorithms have been applied to a wide range of creative design problems with such great success that some researchers have speculated whether they can model creativity in computers, although most commentators are very cautious and do not make such claims without some reservations. The shown pictures can be considered as combinations of objects inspired in Kandinsky Composition VIII, 1923. Two compositions were initially generated, interactively, in the MasterPiece environment. The first contained only objects of a kind named "background triangle". This composition was called "Mountains". Another composition called "Suns" contained only objects of a kind named "Sun". Operations of crossover and mutation were applied. The resulting compositions, "Landscapes with Suns and Mountains", are the immediate offspring. They were automatically generated in the MasterPiece environment. No edition was applied to them."

“Imaginary Landscape with Suns and Mountains 1 ”

2008, All images were generated using MasterPiece, an evolutionary environment (work in progress) designed by the author, 48cm x 60cm

Each created image can be considered a position in the space of all possible combinations (color, position, size, line width, shape) of the programmed objects, which are: Sun, Target, Egg, Square, Square2, Unequal, 3StraightLines, Fence, Eclipse, EquilateralTriangle, Triangle, TriangleBall, Mountain, SquaredSun, Asterisk, Space, Horn, BackgroundTriangle, Shade, Shade2, 4StaightLines, line, StraightLinesArcs, ArcStraightLines, 5Squares, Hank. For these images, only BackgroundTriangle and Sun objects were employed. They are the immediate offspring of the reproduction of two other compositions, Suns and Mountains. Evolutionary operators of crossover and mutation were applied to them.
