“The Hunting of the Snark ”

The overall pattern is derived from a tiling of X pentominoes generated by dissecting each of them into four S pentominoes, then dissecting each of these into four L pentominoes. The additional motifs are taken from the illustrations, by John Vernon Lord, to this new edition of The Hunting of the Snark.
